Wild Jimi Hendrix was a gentleman offstageDecember 18th, 2007 - 2:57 pm ICT by admin
London, December 18 (ANI): For his fans, late guitar player Jimi Hendrix might have been a wild rockstar, but there is one musician who insists that he was a gentleman.
Bev Bevan, who once backed Hendrix as a drummer, says that the legendary guitarist was not the kind of man he used to appear during his onstage performances.
What a lovely guy he was, the Daily Express quoted him as saying.
Hendrix, who died in 1970 at the age of 27, was known for setting his guitar afire and playing it with his teeth.
However, Bevan insists that Hendrixs antics were not part of his real personality.
On stage he was this absolute animal. But off stage he was very soft-spoken and whenever a woman walked into the room he would stand up and offer her his chair, he said. (ANI)
