Why Ronnie Wood stopped boozing
October 26th, 2010 - 2:35 pm ICT by ANILondon, Oct 26 (ANI): Wrinkly rock star Ronnie Wood said no to alcohol after he discovered himself turning into grumpy OAP Victor Meldrew.
The Rolling Stones legend has been off drink for eight months after realizing it made him moan like Richard Wilson’s ‘One Foot In The Grave’ TV character.
“There was a point where it wasn’t working anymore. I was a grumpy old man,” the Sun quoted him as saying.
“I thought, ‘This is not me, I’m not like this. I shouldn’t be this grumpy git’,” he said.
The guitarist added of his teetotal life: “I’m like a newborn baby. I’m waking up and thinking, ‘Wow, I actually know what I’m doing’.” (ANI)
