London, Dec 28 (ANI): It is well known that Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton are together, but live apart.

The Hollywood actress has now revealed the reasons behind her and Burton’s unconventional living arrangements - she cannot stand his snoring and she is ‘outrageously bossy’, reports the Daily Mail.

The couple live in separate sides of a conjoined property in Hampstead, North London, with their children Billy Ray and Nell.

“Tim does snore, and that’s an element. We’ve tried lots of remedies that don’t work. He has a deviated septum and doesn’t want an operation,” she told the Radio Times.

But Carter said they were not a ‘mad couple’ and claimed that the arrangement has actually helped their nine-year relationship.

“We see as much of each other as any couple, but our relationship is enhanced by knowing we have our personal space to retreat to,” she said.

“It’s not enforced intimacy. It’s chosen, which is quite flattering - if you can afford it,” she added.

The 44-year-old actress said she was so bossy at home that the 52-year-old film director often called her ‘the Chief’.

The couple’s twin homes are accessed by a communal door and each side has its own distinct decor.

It is understood that at night they sleep in their respective halves of the property - because of Burton’s snoring and also because he is an insomniac who likes to watch television at night. (ANI)
