david_cook1May 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The American idol finale was marked by some important events like Simon Cowell leaving the show and Paula Abdul returning as the judge. However, stealing the show was the “David Cook’s cause of absence” rumors. The Season 7 ‘American Idol’ winner disappointed his fans by not being in the group song that included all the previous winners including Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. The song performed was ‘Together We Are One’ by Delta Goodrem and other finalists also joined in later into the song. It was a tribute to the exiting judge Simon Cowell.

Speculations about David Cook’s absence was put to rest when it was announced that he had a prior commitment in a charity event in Kansas City. David Cook, who is a part of many charitable organizations especially cancer-patients related, lost his brother to cancer. David Cook tweeted that in spirit he was at the finale. The slight mistake in the sentence where he said ‘could’ instead of ‘couldn’t’ was rectified immediately in the following tweet. The mistake was slightly ironical but fans of the ‘idol’ are not complaining. He also gave a public speech for the winner. David Cook had performed earlier at this season’s American Idol.

Another curious absence was Season 8 runner up and very popular ‘idol’ Adam Lambert. Gossip mills have revealed that the cause for his absence was that he didn’t turn up for the group rehearsal and therefore his surprise entry was axed by the show coordinators. His representative stated that he was under vocal rest and therefore couldn’t make it.
