Whoopi Goldberg slips off her sandals while promoting ‘Sister Act’ in Austria
May 2nd, 2011 - 7:42 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattVienna, May 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Whoopi Goldberg was in Austria and was promoting ‘Sister Act’ when she slipped off her high heels and stood in her socks during a media preview of the show.
She was performing at the Ronacher Theater in Vienna when she slipped off her shoes because she couldn’t keep her balance in her high heeled sandals. Needless to say, this caused a lot of mirth to all those who were sitting in the audience. However Whoopi took it in her stride and said that, “I thought I was going to look good coming in and sitting down.” The sudience appreciated her ability to laugh at herself.
It was clearly visible to the audience all the while that she was standing on the stage in just her socks while the Vienna’s cultural affairs official, Andreas Mailath-Pokorny presented her with a small gift.
“Hold on, hold on. I’m going to put them back on ’cause you’re too tall for me,” Goldberg said, about her sandals. Andreas Mailath-Pokorny also got into the act and said that, “They look great … just like you.”
Whoopi Goldberg was also the star of the movie adaptation of “Sister Act.”
