London, July 16(ANI): Whitney Houston has said that she was ready to quit singing until music mogul Clive Davis came in the picture to inspire her to make a comeback.

The singer revealed that she was set to move to a tropical island away from the limelight.

“When Clive called me I was pretty ready to buy my island home (and retire), but he said, ‘No, you’re going to sing again, people want to hear you,’” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

She mentioned that all credit goes to Davis in making her return to the recording studio for a new album that soon turned into her “labour of love”.

The legendary singer will come out with her album, ‘I Look to You’ this summer.

The comeback album is scheduled to hit store shelves in the U.S. on 1 September.

Also Whitney is expected to come on stage in September when she plays a free televised concert for U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America in New York City. (ANI)
