whiteMar 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest episode of ‘Undercover Boss’, which aired on Sunday, Feb 28, featured the executive board member and owner of White Castle, one of the most popular chain of restaurants in the United States. The owner, Dave Rife, found out in the episode that being an employee in a huge concern is tough, and that those who work at the lower strata of the hierarchy are entrusted with some of the toughest jobs, causing himself much embarrassment in the path of enlightenment. Like in any other episode, in this one to, the ‘undercover boss’ found out many aspects of the company which he had hitherto been unaware of.

Dave Rife went to various branches of the White Castle during his hour long stint at the ‘Undercover Boss’. He visited the ones in Hamilton, Covington and Chicago, and also the bakery at Wisconsin, the one that supplies the buns for the White Castle. In each of these visits, he had something new to learn, and in some instances, goofed up majorly as a new trainee employee. For instance, at the bakery, he mishandled a huge number of buns, causing them to be completely spoiled.

However, the experience did turn out to be an enriching one for him, considering that he came to know a lot that he had not known, ranging from the tribulations and insecurities of his employees, as well as some employee-manager discord. Moreover, he also got introduced to employees who worked personally towards making the place a better one, and also realized that how tough the work for some of them was, particularly those who worked night shifts, under the glare of surveillance cameras.
