When ‘raunchy’ Lady Gaga was frumpy

Led Zeppelin London, Nov 25 (ANI): Singer Lady Gaga might be known for her bizarre fashion style, but there was a time when her dress sense was more frumpy than raunchy.

An early video of the ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker shows the star, real name Stefani Germanotta, performing Led Zeppelin’s D’yer Mak’er at the Bitter End club in New York in 2006 in subdued vest top, leggings and low-heeled boots.

According to her best pal Lady Starlight, a go-go dancing DJ, she helped the singer transform her image.

“I’m 11 years older than GaGa, and I do see myself as her mentor. I’m Angie Bowie to her David Bowie. Angie created his look - she’s my absolute hero,” the Mirror quoted Starlight as saying.

The two women met on GaGa’s 20th birthday and became instant friends.

“It was a magical connection - we were inseparable from the start,” said Starlight, real name Colleen Martin.

Both of them spent hours making crazy costumes for their gigs.

“We were very creative but the outfits were often stuck together with glue. Sometimes they fell apart when we were on stage,” she said. (ANI)
