Weeds: Season 5 Episode 4 Lacks Pace

WeedsWeeds” is one of the most popular shows on American television and has recently begun its season 5. But the fourth episode, it seems has not been able to keep up with the pace of the third one. Episode 4 has probably been the weakest link of its predecessors.

The show which was aired on June 29 has completely turned itself over Justin Kirk. The actors portrayal of the character Andy Botwin has been a revelation as the actor has developed his own unique comic sense and timings.

The show witnessed Andy, who is a bit insecure about Nancy’s relationship with Esteban tries to work out in order to turn himself up into a muscular bodyguard whom Nancy might need. Although the episode was was a bit of a drag still according to the viewers Kirk’s comic timings had made up the episode a worthwhile one. The fifth episode termed as ‘Super Happy Lucky’ deals with Celia coming back from Mexico and goes on to reside in Nancy’s garage. The show also dealt with Nancy getting hold of the DEA agent handcuffing both him and his partner in the bed room. Shane was ripped off after providing his English teacher with a bunch of marijuana. On the other side, Silas and Doug’s medical marijuana joint seems to hold an integral part of the season.

The big question remains that what will happen to Nancy and Esteban’s baby and whether Nancy’s life will be safe if the baby is born. The show gets on a roll when Nancy seems to be cornered.

The next episode seems to be an interesting one unless the show continues to focus on Nancy and Esteban which will become a drag gradually.

I can’t believe you think the Esteban & Nancy story is a drag! I am always excited to see them on camera together. The whole relationship is just so intense and honestly intrigues me. Not to mention this one storyline holds the rest of the show together. No Esteban, No problem.

I agree with Maryanne. I think the two of them onscreen is positively combustible.

Ignacio is certainly my favorite “bodyguard” so far, and I think Andy is freakin’ hysterical.

    Shane is annoying, though.

And the Doug/Silas storyline has promise. I’d put money on that cop’s death before the end of the season.

I hope they do rework Celia’s storyline more.
