The title of the second episode of the fifth season of the show, “Weeds” on Showtime, had the title “Machetes Up Top”. The June 15 episode, which was aired at 10 p.m yesterday, showed Nancy paying a secret visit to the imprisoned Guillermo after she receives a message from him. She must keep the encounter hidden from Esteban at all costs now on.

The episode mainly focused on the story of how Nancy goes on a self destructive mode after the realization hits her that the baby she is carrying in her womb is not going to bring her redemption. In last week’s episode it was shown that Nancy was hoping that the baby would be delivering her from all her worries. This week’s discovery puts Nancy in a turmoil which shadow’s her life.

She plunges in to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, sushis in self loathing. All this starts when Guillermo points it out to her from behind the bars that women in her situations often lands up in ditch, dead. In the other plot, Celia is held captive by her estranged daughter Quinn, in Mexico. Quinn makes an attempt at exhorting ransom cash from all of Celia’s friends. The whole incident turns hilarious though, when none of Celia’s friends seem eager to step in their friend’s rescue and pay the amount required for her release.

It is also shown that Andy takes Shane to visit Nancy’s estranged sister, Jill. Meanwhile, Doug and Silas figure it out while being out in the national forest that growing pot on federal land is going to be a lot tougher than what they had earlier thought it to be.
