‘We must not cheat audiences’ -SP Jananathan
November 2nd, 2009 - 5:23 pm ICT by Sampurn Wire ( Leave a comment )Filmmaker SP Jananathan– a maverick filmmaker has his own customs of making flicks. Of course, he holds special mention for having made films based on serious themes with commercial ingredients. It has been more illustrious with all his films: “Iyarkai’, “Ee’ and now “Peranmai’.
There were certain reviews about the film that SP Jananathan has been too preachy with his kind of elements he inserts into the script. When approached the filmmaker pertaining to this issue, he said, “Definitely, I maybe preachy, but it’s all about engrossing audiences. Because we’ve certain audiences who come to our shows spend money earned through daily wages and other kind of works. But then, we shouldn’t cheat the audiences by making cheap movies based on sex, violence and absurd themes. There must be something really interesting for the masses to experience.”
