CEO Larry O’Donnell made a wise decision to demonstrate “True LEADERSHIP!” He got hands-on with his precious assets (employees). I saw from their eyes the ins & outs of decisions impacting performance. We in the military are too familiar with this tactic. I pray he uses the experience wisely and have great success. God Bless.

I wish Mr. O’Donnell had spent time with his customer service people. They failed miserably when I tried to resolve a billing issue. I couldn’t even get a customer service supervisor to return my telephone call or e mail request. Who’s really running this business?

I was very moved by your resolutions to make Waste management a better company to work for, however, the minute late rule, the ridiculous demands given to the fleet technicians among many other unreasonable requests by WM have done nothing short of making everyone from anagement on down to afraid to move for fear of being fired. WM is micro-managed beyond reason. While the company has a great team of technicians who work until there is nothing left of them they are scrutinized to do more then constantly reprimanded for any overtime. In short the company is outrageously unreasonable and have not the slightest idea what it takes to work on the filthy trucks. Without a doubt the statistics they are forced to live up to are for a fleet of dealer trucks, new and shiny. No way can one perform the tasks on an older truck that is dirty and grimy beyond recognition in the same amount of time that is done on a new truck. WM personnel who have come up with these statistics obviously have never worked on WM’s fleet of trucks. here is an idea, why don’t you go to some of your fleet services depot’s and try that undercover boss stint again then go back and praise those individuals who are asked to do the impossible and perhaps get WM off their backs. Oh yes do not forget your safety rules which in the case of the Fleet technicians you, WM have put the Techs between a rock and a hard place. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. maybe you need to reassess the demands you and your company have placed on the technicians, which ironically did not appear on the show. No wonder you have a high turnover. Just saying.
Sincerely, A concerned observer
