Hollywood, June 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Despite the poor performance of the movie “Green Lantern,” owners Warner Bros have indicated that they are considering a sequel for the movie. The studio is reportedly considering giving green light for the production of “Green Lantern 2” to start.

The first Green Lantern movie managed to gross about $207 million at the box office worldwide. The movie which had a budget of about $200 million was the lowest grossing super-hero movie in the summer. The movie came behind X Men: First Class and Thor on the box office charts.

Warner Bros still have hope that the movie will someday develop into a successful franchise. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Warner Bros’ head of US distribution, Dan Fellman was sure that the movie has a good chance to become successful.

He argued that jumping into any kind of conclusion is not right at the moment. He told EW that, “Rushing to judgment is easy to do especially when the movie is not well reviewed.”

Green Lantern was released earlier in June. The poor performance of the movie has been blamed on the not-too favorable reviews that the movie received. Ryan Reynolds played the leading role in the movie.
