July 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Apart from the 3D fever and supernatural thrillers like ‘Eclipse’ Hollywood movie lovers have a lot to look forward to this year. Those who have a penchant for edgy dark thrillers will like the upcoming movie ‘Wall Street Money Never Sleeps’ that is going to be released. This is a sequel to the first Wall Street movie made in the late 1987. Ace actor Michael Douglas returns to reprise the famous role of Gordon Gekko in the sequel and he is accompanies by Shia Labeouf, the Transformers’ actor. The movie is expected to be released in September. The 1987 movie was a critical success and the sequel will have to live up to the expectations.
The trailer of the upcoming movie is already out in the web and it looks quite impressive. The story of the second film takes place almost two decades after the first film. As one can guess, it is based on the 2008 Wall Street meltdown that grabbed the US economy hard. Michael Douglas returns as the captivating and dark Gordon Gekko after so many years and his charisma is felt even in the short trailer. He returns to the world once dominated by him after a long stint in prison. He seeks to restore his damaged relation with Winnie his daughter. For this purpose he befriends her lover Jacob.
The fans of the star will like to see him playing the Oscar winning role once more. However, Michael Douglas essays that character of an anti hero rather than an out and pout villain in this sequel. For Shia Labeouf this film is chance to redefine his on screen image.
