July 30, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): A star along with a place in the highly coveted ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ was awarded to Mark Wahlberg, the 39 year old actor. ‘The Other Guys’ co star Wills Ferrell took a dig at Wahlberg on Thursday at the ceremony.

He stated that he had been Mark’s fan ever since he got to see his work out video which he bought. And then took a swipe at him saying that he had loved Mark in all the Bourne movies. However, the movies that he mentioned had Matt Damon in it and not Mark Wahlberg.

Wahlberg had started his life as a rapper. He achieved fame with his group the ‘New Kids on the Block’ back in the 80s and 90s. However, he left them soon in order to start ‘Funky Bunch’ and ‘Marky Mark’.

Then came the advertising features which showed him modeling for Calvin Klein under garments. The actor has also been nominated for the Oscar since then. His movies also include the ‘the Departed’, ‘The Happening’, ‘Planet of the Apes’ and ‘Boogie Nights’ amongst others.

Mark Wahlberg was present along with his family and expressed his happiness as his kids were there to watch him win a place at the famous Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. His wife Rhea Durham and all his four young children were present on the occasion. He admitted that he could not believe his ears when he first heard of it. “I thought that it was a joke.” He added.
