Wahlberg plans movie on porn industry
August 20th, 2010 - 12:35 am ICT by IANSLos Angeles, Aug 19 (IANS) Over a decade after playing a male prostitute in “Boogie Nights”, actor Mark Wahlberg is planning to shoot another movie on the porn industry.
“Boogie Nights”, released in 1997, was about the golden era of adult movies in the 1970s and 1980s.
Now Wahlberg wants to shoot a drama about a porn company struggling to compete with adult websites, and a girl who travels to Los Angeles hoping to make it big in the sex industry, reports imdb.com.
The “Departed” actor has teamed up with his fellow “Entourage” executive producer Steve Levinson and writer James Frey to work on a script for US-based network HBO.
“We’re going to make a sprawling epic about the porn business in LA. We’re going to tell the type of stories no one else has told before, and go places no one has gone before,” said Frey.
