Sep 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The MTV VMA Video Music award kicked off last night at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California. It was one of the most entertaining shows that the audience has enjoyed this year. The show started off with a bang as Chelsea Handler and Lindsay Lohan’s skit was played on which made the audience laugh. However, one of the main attractions of the show was Lady Gaga and her conspicuously unconventional costumes. Not only her costumes grabbed attention but also she bagged 8 coveted awards this year.

It was a moment of happiness and moment of sadness for many celebrities, as some received their coveted awards and some failed to get it this year. Lady Gaga received award for Best Collaboration, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, Best Dance Music Video, Best Choreography, Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Video Of The Year for her songs “Bad Romance” and “Telephone”. Eminem bagged awards for Best Male Video and Best Hip-Hop Video for his song “Not Afraid”. The “Baby” singer Justin Bieber got the award for Best New Artist and “30 Seconds To Mars” received award for “Kings And Queens”. Jay Z and Alicia Keys received the coveted award for Best Cinematography for “Empire State Of Mind”. “The Black Keys” received Best Music Video, Muse was given the award for Best Special Effects and in the end Florence and the machine got the Best Art Direction Award.

Other than the awards, there were many spectacular performances on the stage. The controversial Kanye West and Taylor Swift performed their songs but separately. Eminem and Rihanna sang their famous “Love The Way You Lie” song on stage. The other veteran celebrities who performed on stage are Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Usher, Kanye West and many more.
