Vin Diesel confirms more ‘The Fast and the Furious’ sequels
December 22nd, 2011 - 4:18 am ICT by IANSLondon, Dec 22 (IANS) “The Fast and the Furious” fans can look forward to the sixth as well as seventh installments of the popular film franchise, says actor-producer Vin Diesel.
“With the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters and broadening the scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn’t have enough space,” contactmusic.com quoted Diesel as saying.
“We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships and when we started mapping all that out, it just went beyond 110 pages. The studio said, ‘You can’t fit all that story in one damn movie,” he added.
The last film in the franchise, “Fast Five”, raked in $626 million at the box office worldwide and also received some of the best reviews the franchise has ever had. So no wonder, more installments are on the cards!
