Vikings Movie Might Be Mel Gibson’s Last Directorial Venture

melMar 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) If recent reports are to be believed, then actor/director Mel Gibson is likely to give up directing after he directs his latest movie. The latest directorial venture of the much acclaimed actor is going to be based on the Viking epic which has not been titled as yet. In the much anticipated movie, the lead character is supposedly going to be edged by Leonardo DiCaprio with the director and the actor having a five hour meeting last fall to discuss the details about the upcoming flick.

While talking about the project, the “Lethal Weapon” star has revealed to a news source that Vikings was the first movie he ever wanted to make as he had the idea in his mind since his teenage days. Moreover, Mel Gibson also confirmed that this might be his last movie in the director’s chair and he would wrap up his directing career after this movie is finished. At the same time, “The Patriot” star also that Oscar winning screenwriter William Monahan is penning down the script of the movie and presently is working ‘hammer and tongs’ on it. It has also come to light that Mel Gibson would be collaborating with producer Graham King for the movie. Although the 54 year old actor brushed away the possibility that he might play one of the roles in the movie, Graham King added that there is “a chance that might change”.

As of now, the much acclaimed actor has been part of four movies as a director which includes “The Man Without a Face”, “Braveheart”, “Passion of the Christ”, and his last directorial venture “Apocalypto” which released in the year 2006.
