Aishwarya Rai Mumbai, Aug 1 (IANS) Jewellery designer Vijay Golecha, who designed for Aishwarya Rai starrer “Umrao Jaan”, says his biggest dream is to see senior actress Rekha wearing his designs.

“I always dreamt about designing jewellery for Rekhaji. Of course, I have done one ‘Umrao Jaan’,” Vijay of Golecha’s Jewels by Vijay-Sandeep, told reporters on the second day of India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) here Monday.

“Everyone, who has worn my jewellery, carried them very well,” added the designer who created jewellery for Abhishek Bachchan in “Drona”.

Talking about the collection that he presented at the IIJW, Golecha said: “The whole collection has all kind of stones like ruby, emerald, pearl, diamond and they go very well with the royalty and ethnic collection.”

Chunk jewellery is a sign of royalty, said Golecha, adding, “Yes, there are more chunks because people want to show off what they are wearing. When you are covered with heavy jewelleries, it’s a sign of royalty.”

Considering his strong Bollywood connection, why didn’t he rope in an actress as a showstopper? “I really wanted to do something different and unique, away from others.”

Vijay-Sandeep had designed the Miss Universe crown in 2010.
