Vijay and Mahesh Babu To Do ‘3 Idiots’

October 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): It has been a never-ending buzz about the remake of 3 Idiots in the past three months. Much prior to the release of ‘Endhiran’, Gemini Film Circuit signed Shankar for remaking Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots in Tamil and Telugu. The Tamil version was supposed to have Vijay in lead role and the Telugu version, Mahesh Babu. Earlier it was Silambarasan, who was signed for the role enacted by Sharman Joshi while Madhavan was to enact his own part. Since, they didn’t accept the offers; Shankar had to look out for some other actors.
Later it was heard that Vijay’s father S.A. Chandrasekhar requested Shankar to sign Vijay for both the versions. Nonetheless, estimating the popularity of these actors, it has been confirmed that Mahesh Babu will take on the lead character in Telugu and there will be no further change in it. As of now, Jeeva and Siddarth are expected to play the other lead characters with Telugu actress Ileana as the female lead.
Composer Harris Jayaraj has confirmed that the film will go on floors shortly and he has already started composing tunes. The first track for Mahesh Babu was recently done in Chennai and has been delivered to Shankar for approval.
So fans of Vijay and Mahesh Babu can keep their fingers crossed as the project will take off shortly and will be completed within a short span of time as the producers want the film to release as soon as possible
