Thursday evening turned in to a glitzy amalgamation of many stars of the constellation of the music industry, as the divas rained down on the Brooklyn Academy of Music Howard’s Gilman Opera House, in front of a sold out crowd of an estimated 2,100. The red carpet event was an absolutely stunning affair, as the glamorous divas stepped in one after the other.

The excitement garnered by the VH1 franchise has been quite high pitched, considering the 4 year gap that had weighed in between. Thankfully, VH1 chose to revive the VH1 Divas once more this year. The star studded live broadcast proved to be an instant hit among the viewers once again, as if it had never quite left the arena at all. Names like teen sensation Miley Cyrus, crooner Sheryl Crow, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks and a host of others, featured in the attendee’s list for the show.

Thursday night’s event was hosted by former American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, who imparted her bit to pep up the show significantly. The divas and their singing partners stepped up to the occasion to entertain the audience to the hilt.

On the red carpet, Miley Cyrus, (who was the youngest diva present) won the title for the contest of red carpet’s sexiest gown. The teen sensation donned a black chiffon, floor length attire by D Squared, that had a low back and came up to Miley’s knee in the front. She looked every bit a diva, in spite of the young age.
