Veteran Singer Jimmy Buffett Falls Off Stage In Sydney

jimmy_buffettJan 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) 64 year old Margaritaville singer Jimmy Buffett was injured after he fell from the stage while performing in Sydney Opera House, to celebrate Australia Day on Tuesday. Apparently, he could not assess where the edge of the protruded stage was, and while interacting with the audiences, he slipped off the platform, to fall on the first row of the audiences.

Jimmy Buffett was singing “It’s been a lovely cruise, I’m sorry it’s ended”, but his song actually ended after the mishap. According to the sources, he was left unconscious for atleast 10 minutes after the fall and he injured his head severely. However, thirty minutes later, the veteran singer was taken to the Sydney’s St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he is still under treatment. The singers representative Laurie Gorman, has confirmed the news and has said that right now the singer is under a stable condition. He also added that the doctors are expecting to release him on Thursday. Michael Chugg, the singer’s tour manager asked the audiences to leave the stage immediately. However, most of them were too curious to know what was happening to the singer and wanted to wait until he recovered. The show for the day was obviously canceled, and so was his performance that was scheduled on Wednesday, at the same venue.

According to the sources, before the concert started, Jimmy Buffett apologized to his audiences for not performing in the country for the last two decades. However, he soon thrilled his fans a lot more when he promised to return in the next year too. His performance is also lines up for Auckland, New Zealand, for the next Saturday. It is expected that he would be able to resume with his work by then.
