Aug 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A week after famous radio talk show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger was criticized heavily for her use of the n-word repeatedly during her conversation with a black female caller, the former announced her retirement from the radio talk show on Tuesday at CNN’s “Larry King Live”. The 30 year veteran radio talk show host maintained that she had decided to leave the show to regain her “First Amendment” right and also to live a life without fear of others.
Dr. Laura Schlessinger suffered criticism last week after she used the n-word 11 times during her conversation with a black female caller who had called up for advice to tackle the racists comments that she has to face regularly from the family and friends of her white husband. Although Dr. Laura Schlessinger used the word repetitively, she later apologized for the usage and maintained that she was only trying to make a “philosophical point”. The host had maintained that her uttering the word more than once “was wrong. I’ll say it again — that was wrong”.
At “Larry King Live”, Dr. Laura Schlessinger mentioned in front of the host that she had felt that her First Amendment Right was “usurped” by angry, hateful groups that according to her do not want a debate but only look forward to “elimination”. She maintained that by stepping down from her position she would be able to speak whatever her mind thinks and her heart feels is right and useful without thinking about others. Dr. Laura Schlessinger revealed that she plans to communicate with the mass through her own personal website.
