Veteran Kannada Actress Vaishali Kasaravalli Dies At 59
September 28th, 2010 - 10:13 pm ICT by Sampurn WireSeptember 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Veteran Kannada movie actress Srimathi Vaishali Kasaravalli, who was also wife of renowned film director Girish Kasaravalli, has passed away in Bangalore on Monday at 5pm. She has left behind a son named Apoorva and a daughter Ananya. The actress was 59.
The reason behind her death is kidney failure. She has been suffering from bad health since last six months and was admitted in a hospital. The cremation process has been performed today.
Srimati Vaishali won a National Award for costume of the movie Thai Saheba in 1998.
Her husband Girish Kasaravalli was regularly visiting her in hospital along with their daughter Ananya since last few months. As a result, her son Apoorva took responsibility of directing the television serial “Muthina Thorana’, which was originally being directed by his mother.
The late actress had been part of more than 70 movies and is mainly remembered for her role in Hombisilu, which started late actor Vishnuvardhan. Some other popular films of Vaishali include the names like Maanasa Sarovara, Palitamsha, Ganeshana Maduve, Kittu Puttu, Asegobba Meesegobba, Bhutayanna Maga Ayyu, No 73 Shantinivasa and Thabarana Kathe.
She received appreciation for her performance in Girish’s directorial Akramana. The versatile actress played the comic, traditional and glamorous roles with equal ease. She started her career in acting at the age of 12 and performed on stage.
