Vatican says that ‘The Blues Brothers’ is a ‘catholic film’

Blues Brothers Rome, Jun 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a surprise gesture the official Vatican Newspaper - L’Osservatore Romano has certified that ‘The Blues Brothers’ is a ‘catholic film’. The movie in question is a movie that was released in 1980, and it was comedy starring the well-known comedians - John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. The central actors of the movie John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd portrayed the characters of Jake and Elwood Blues, and they were under the impression that they are on a mission from God.

The Vatican felt that the 1980 comedy was a memorable film. As the film’s 30th anniversary is being celebrated, so in a very generous spirit the Vatican newspaper had five articles on the movie, which shocked and surprised its ardent devotees too, no end. The paper said that, “This is a memorable film, and, judging by the facts, a Catholic one.”

In the articles, Jake’s story is mentioned with emphasis on the part, when he is released from jail and then he does his very best to get all the members of his blue band back together. He does this, because he wants to save the St. Helen of the Blessed Shroud Orphanage, as an emulation of the life of Christ.
