Vatican City, Apr 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Vatican has finally settled its long standing issues with the Beatles, and made peace with them. The Vatican said that their ‘drug use and dissolute lives are all things of the past’. Earlier the Beatles had also claimed that their legendary music was greater than Jesus, and apparently this statement had infuriated the Vatican no end. However now the Vatican has shown them the white flag and said that all their claims were in the past, and their music is alive even today.
The Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano paid a touching tribute to the legendary Beatles with 2 articles and also a front-page cartoon. The Vatican tribute also marked the 40th anniversary of the breakup of the Beatles. “It’s true, they took drugs; swept up by their success, they lived dissolute and uninhibited lives. They even said they were more famous than Jesus. But, listening to their songs, all of this seems distant and meaningless,” L’Osservatore said. “Their beautiful melodies, which changed forever pop music and still give us emotions, live on like precious jewels.”
And this is the second time that the Vatican has praised the Beatles. Two years ago the Vatican had also remarked about the great musical legacy of the Beatles, on the 40th anniversary of the ‘White Album’.
