Varsity Blues: Deluxe DVD And Blu-Ray Release in September

Varsity Blues The 1999 super hit flick, Varsity Blues will be released in a deluxe DVD by the Paramount Home Entertainment on September this year. It will be a complete package of the movie which will contain topics like “Football is a way of Life: The Making of The Varsity Blues”, “Whip Cream Delight”, “Billy Bob with no Bacon”, commentaries and trailers. The Blu-Ray extras would include commentaries of director Brian Robbins and producer Tova Laiter and Mike Tollin, QB Game Analysis, Ali Larter’s audition, deleted scenes and trailers. While the DVD will provide subtitle and audio options in English, French and Spanish, the Blu-ray will contain Portuguese subtitles.

The movie is on the journey of a Texas high school football team Varsity Blues as they travel through troubled times. It presents Jonathan Moxon played by James Van Der Beek who despite his popularity in the school and relationship with girlfriend Jules Harbor (Amy Smart) is not happy with life and wants to leave Texas. The story takes a turn when his football coach Bud Kilmer denies referring cortisone shots to a player Lance who had a knee injury. With several twists and turns in the story, at the end, Kilmer and Moxon leave their respective career whereas Lance takes up football coaching. The film also traces the problems of adolescence besides a football obsessed community’s picture.
The movie was a huge hit claiming the Teen Choice Awards and MTV Movie Awards in 1999. With this deluxe edition, the fans of this flick can take a look at interesting aspects of the movie and relive their experiences once again.
