Sep 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former Miss America Vanessa Williams is the newest member of “Desperate Housewives”. The “Ugly Betty” starlet is seen in a promo for the new series of the hit television drama and the channel also confirms that she will play an integral role in “Desperate Housewives” season seven. The American actress and singer will play a neighbor who is expected to cause havoc on the lives of her neighbors on Wisteria Lane.

The ABC officials have announced that the “My Brother” actress will play the role of a housewife who will shake things up in the neighborhood and “wreck” havoc in the lives of the women of her locality. Marc Cherry, the creator of “Desperate Housewives” in one of his recent interviews said that he is a big fans of Vanessa Williams and he is excited that the actress will be moving in to the neighborhood in the seventh season of the American television comedy-drama series. Marc Cherry also added that Vanessa Williams will cause “trouble” in all the other characters of the series.

The other “Desperate Housewives” of season seven includes Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria Parker. A reputed media source reported that Vanessa Williams will play the character of Renee Perry. The premiere episode of season seven will be aired on ABC on Sunday, September 26. The online preview of the episode shows that Gary finds out that Andrew ran over her mother in law 11 years ago. This shocking revelation will ultimately affect her friendship with Bree in a major way. The media reports that the season seven “Desperate Housewives” trailer shows Vanessa Williams looking glamorous in her role and a little devious owing to the demand of her character.
