Vanessa Feltz show ‘facing axe’
March 24th, 2011 - 8:56 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Mar 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Channel Five is reportedly considering axing Vanessa Feltz show. The show’s viewers continue to dwindle in numbers.
The show, “The Vanessa Show”, opened moderately on the 11th of January with 170,000 viewers. Things got really bad for the show when it recorded 60,000 viewers at a point. According to the report by the Daily Mail, yesterday’s show comparatively did better than that with 140,000 viewers.
The daytime show was moved to 2:15pm in a bid to boost viewership but that has not brought that much success either. The seemingly bad performance of the show would undoubtedly disappoint Channel Five because they had very high hopes for the show.
In announcing the creation of the show, Channel Five promised that the show is the “the most promising new show in daytime television.”
The show marked the end of Feltz’s long absence from the small screens. The show also features the fiancé of Feltz. A television critic recently suggested that the show’s poor performance might have something to do with the inclusion of Ben Ofoedu. Ben who is the fiancé of Feltz acts as the roving reporter for the show.
Channel Five has come out to deny reports that the show has already been axed.
