Vanessa Carlton admits that she is bisexual
June 21st, 2010 - 1:42 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattNashville, Jun 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Singer and lyricist Vanessa Carlton has taken the brave step of admitting that she is bisexual. She took the extreme step at the Nashville Pride on Saturday, where she honestly said to the huge crowd that, “I’ve never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman.” There was a crowd of 18,000 people at the event, so it was quite a courageous admission.
Vanessa Carlton has been said to be romantically involved with John Mayer and even Stephen Jenkins in the past. Her debut album was ‘Be Not Nobody’ and her single – ‘A Thousand Miles’ was a huge hit.
Vanessa Lee Carlton was born on the 16th of August 1980 in Milford, Pennsylvania. Her father is Ed Carlton who is a pilot and her mother is Heidi who is a pianist and a school music teacher as well. Perhaps Vanessa has got her musical genes from her mother. Even Vanessa’s uncle – Larry Carlton is a popular jazz guitarist.
Vanessa was inclined towards music from a very young age. When she was just 2 years old, then she visited the Disneyland and after returning from there she played ‘It’s a Small World’ on the piano. Her mother saw her musical talent and then she started teaching her how to play the piano.
