van Kiev, Jan 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Martial arts movie star Van Damme is trying to do a ‘real fight’ instead of a ‘reel fight’. He is all set to take part in a kickboxing fight with a Thai boxer. Somluck Kamsing is junior to Van Damme by 13 years, and he has 300 fights under his belt. On top of that he also won the gold medal as a featherweight boxer at the 1996 Olympic Games.

The 46-year-old Belgian actor will have a kickboxing fight with Somluck Kamsing in Macau. This was announced in Ukraine, ‘It’s the first time in history a guy almost 50 will go for a real fight in Macau, China. It’s kind of dangerous, but life is short.’ Van Damme is preparing for the hugely anticipated bout, while shooting with a reality series. He claims that he wants his life to be as challenging and exciting as possible, while he is physically fit and able-bodied. He said: ‘Life is short. I’ve got ten years left and I want them to be precious, not like before, cranking two or three movies a year. I just want to do something I’m proud of.’

Jean-Claude Van Damme’s real name is Jean-Claude Camille Francois Van Vaerenbergh. He was born on 18 October 1960. He is a Belgian martial artist as well as an actor too. The able-bodied Van Damme is best known for his martial arts action movies, like Bloodsport (1988), Universal Soldier (1992), Hard Target (1993), and Timecop (1994). He is also nicknamed as “The Muscles from Brussels.”
