Valerie Bertinelli is engaged to boyfriend Tom Vitale

Los Angeles, May 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actress Valerie is all set to tie the knot soon, as she has gotten engaged to her boyfriend Tom Vitale. The news was confirmed by the 50-year-old actress herself, in the latest issue of ‘AARP The Magazine.’ She said in the magazine that she never met someone as special as Tom. And he proposed to her during a vacation in Italy. Valerie said that, “I’ve never had a male friend like I have with Tom.”
Tom Vitale also pitched in and added that both of them are actually shy of commitment, so he was very apprehensive whether he ought to propose or not. But then he felt that the timing was right, and they should go ahead and forge their life as a couple, so he proposed to her. Vitale said that, “We’re both still a little afraid of commitment, but then we were over there, and it was like our souls were calibrated… If the timing wasn’t right, I wouldn’t have asked.”
Perhaps Valerie is afraid of commitment, because she was married to Eddie Van Halen for 25 years, with whom she also has a 19-year-old son Wolfgang. But their marriage didn’t work out, and they divorced 5 years earlier.
