Val Kilmer’s neighbors are still upset over the comments that he made 7 years ago

Jun 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The neighbors of Val Kilmer are fuming over the comments that he made about them 7 years ago. He had said that the people who live in the vicinity of his 6,000 foot ranch comprised “the homicide capital of the Southwest” and claimed that, “80% of the people in my county are drunk.” He also referred to the Vietnam veterans in a disgraceful light and said that they all were “borderline criminal or poor … wretched kids.” Needless to say such comments infuriated all the inhabitants no end. Though later in his defense, Val Kilmer had said that he had been misquoted.
They are demanding an apology. One of the locals of the area said that, “That’s all he has to do, come and apologize”. However another resident disagreed and said that, “An apology isn’t good enough. He’s insulted and hurt too many people.”
These comments and the apology issued was raked up recently, because the actor wants to open a ‘Bed and Breakfast’ on his ranch, but the near by residents are not going along with his plans. He is not getting the permit to do so, because of the protests of the residents.
