32582June 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Left with no other option, Hollywood star Val Kilmer has finally apologized to all his New Mexico neighbors on Wednesday. Reportedly Val Kilmer and his neighbors were attending a meeting held at the San Miguel County Commission’s office in Las Vegas where the much acclaimed actor expressed his apology over some remarks that had earlier made.

The apology comes after seven years since the “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” star made some disgraceful comments about his neighbors. In an interview with a popular magazine, he called New Mexico to be “the homicide capital of the Southwest” and also said that over 80 percent of the people living in the neighborhood are “drunkards”. However, Val Kilmer who appeared before the Sam Miguel County Commission was a sober and a calm one who read out the words of apology from his official statement. He said that he has always been a “contributing member of the community” and that he regrets his past action where he had been harsh in his comments about his neighbors.

Meanwhile, Attorney Jesus Lopez said that the County had accepted Val Kilmer’s apology and a five member commission finally granted him the permission to turn his Pecos River Ranch into a bed and breakfast inn. However some of the neighbors following the lead of civil rights activists group Abran Tapia, still seem to be unsatisfied with the actor’s apology. Abran Tapia members told the media that people are hurt by Val Kilmer’s comments on New Mexico. They said that a man who had called New Mexico to be the “homicide capital of the Southwest” keeps a gun in his vehicle and hence he can’t be forgiven so easily.
