UTV signs nine-film deal with Anurag Kashyap
October 14th, 2009 - 7:50 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Mumbai, Oct 14 (IANS) UTV, one of the Bollywood’s major production house, has signed a nine film deal with Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap. He has to make them in the next three years.
Kashyap will be directing around four to five movies produced by UTV as part of the deal.
“Anurag’s ‘Dev D’ was produced by UTV Spotboy and it was a blockbuster. It set the base for a phenomenal working relationship. Now, we want to take this association forward with a long term perspective and that is exactly how this idea came about,” Vikas Bahl, CCO of UTV Motion Pictures said in a statement released here Wednesday.
“Anurag is an extremely talented director, with a unique vision. There is a clear connect between how we want each of our films to be exceptional and diverse in various aspects and how Anurag treats each of his projects,” he added.
Kashyap was also excited about the agreement.
“Making ‘Dev D’ was one of the most satisfying experiences and the production and distribution support that I got from UTV was the best I ever had. A repeat of that is always welcome,” he said.
