May 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Revisiting their endeavour of being the brand that promises and delivers content for today’s youth, India’s 360* Entertainment channel UTV Bindass spearheads the launch of Fanta’s Bindass Street Dance – celebrating the most vibrant form of dance, a craze amongst today’s youth! Teaming up with Shiamak Davar, the man celebrated for his stylish and ubercool moves, Brand Bindass is all set to redefine the reality dance space with their entry, beginning 24th May 8pm onwards! Bindass Street Dance is set to be the first-of-its-kind show to take dancing to the country’s streets, rooftops, houses, garages, just anywhere you wish to be, presenting this fun exercise to one’s door step.

Street culture has been a part of India’s identity right from the beginning; with the nukaads and gullies in every corner buzzing with the hustle and bustle. The haths, vendors, hawkers, bazaars are synonymously blended into the Indian culture and with the advent of Street Dance UTV Bindass forays into the street space like never before. Poised to showcase some of the hippest and funkiest dance moves on Indian television, Bindass Street Dance will be an expression of GenY with their kind of music, their moves, and more importantly on their own turf! The show will line up dance forms such as Krumping, B-boying, Hip Hop, Tap Dance, Contemporary and Bollywood, an absolute treasure cove for a dancer!

Speaking about his association with UTV Bindass, the Guru of Modern Contemporary Dance of India, Shiamak Davar said, “It is a pleasure to be associated with a channel that is committed towards bringing fresh content to its audience. Bindass Street Dance is a novel concept and will bring to the limelight dance styles that today’s youth swear. I am very excited to be a part of it. I have always looked out for and nurtured talent. As a mentor on the show, I will be giving my tips and guidance to the contesting teams ensuring that they give performances that are enjoyed and cherished by the viewers. I will also pick a wild card entry who I believe should be given the opportunity to get a direct entry into the finals. The winners of the show will be a given a chance to train in my dance school for one entire year so they can hone their dancing skills and take it up professionally”.

Sourcing some of the best talent nationally, finest of the dancers will be picked up from dance schools, colleges, local co-ordinators for this dance show. This three-days-in-a-week show will comprise of exciting funky capsules. Offering passionate dancers the much-needed platform to showcase their talent, participants from all across the nation can register by sending in their dance videos by mail and uploads on Bindass’ website.

Amplifying Bindass’ youth appeal with this show, the on-air look would be of a visually appealing website comprising livechats, polls, tickers, and anchor backgrounds – a highly interactive format to engage viewers.

Host’s Sid and Aaliyah set temperatures soaring by showcasing 4-5 smashing dance groups, choose the favourite act of the day post an SMS/WEB public voting. Selecting one winner each week, over 8 consecutive weeks, the final 8 will compete in a never-before-witnessed clash of the titans! The final winner bags the opportunity to train himself with Shiamak Davar’s Institute for the Performing Arts for a year long period.
