Rome, June 29 (IANS/AKI) The Cinetecta of Bologna film archive in Italy’s Bologna city has found a five-page manuscript by Charlie Chaplin outlining an idea for a work never made, but inspired by the life of Russian ballet dancer Vaclav Nijinsky.

“The theme of the play is that a career is not the fulfillment of man’s desires, but only a road leading to his destiny. Naginsky was inarticulate, sensitive and shy with a funny passion and an imagination that launched his soul, because he had only one means of expressing himself,” said the manuscript.

Chaplin met Nijinsky in Los Angeles when the dancer was on tour with the Les Ballets Russes and Chaplin was working on his 1917 movie “Easy Street”.
