Aug 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A recent list of happily unmarried celebrities might just make some people rethink about taking the plunge. Considering that sex symbols like Johny Depp have chosen not to tie the knot, many might question the very foundation of the institution of marriage. The list released by a popular website shows some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry remaining unmarried and happy for a very long period but it has also been shortened by some of the splits recently. For example, ‘Stepmom’ star Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins decided to call it quits after 23 years and 2 children. Former Bond girl and Oscar winner Halle Berry too had one of the most publicized breakups recently with Gabriel Orby, five years of marriage and one child later.

For all those who managed to stick together in spite of the challenges that relationships face in the entertainment industry, Johny Depp might just serve as the perfect example. Considered the sexiest man in the world more than once, the ‘Pirates of The Caribbean’ star might have been a distraction for the married as well as unmarried women alike, but Vanessa Paradis has kept him homeward bound for the last 12 years now. Though the couple is yet to marry, Johny Depp said that they are married in all intent and purposes and reasserted that the French actress is the ‘woman’ in his life.

Another celebrity couple who have hogged the limelight over half of the last decade is Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Referred to by fans as ‘Brangelina’, the couple have survived the strangest and sickest rumors over the years to stay together. With six children thrown in the mix, marriage is a question the media is bound to ask. Brad Pitt, however, explained that he and the ‘Salt’ star will marry only when everyone in America who want to get married are legally able to.
