Angelina Jolie London, Aug 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) UNHCR Goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie has appealed to the public to donate generously for the flood victims of Pakistan. She also added that she is aware of the fact that the people are tired of donating to the victims of the natural calamities as there are just so many of them, in the recent times.

It ought to be mentioned that even though the Pakistan floods have managed to displace and affect a whooping 20 million people, yet the donations that have been trickling in, are way below the figures that came during the Haiti earthquake and in the Asian tsunami.

Angelina Jolie said that, “it is getting hard for people — they see Haiti, they see these other events … and they get exhausted by the time another big one rolls around.” The star of Salt also added that, the Pakistani inhabitants face “mass death, mass displacement, and this situation is going to get worse.”

In the past Angelina Jolie has visited the countries of Haiti, Iraq and other nations as well, as a UN Goodwill ambassador. She also plans to visit Pakistan but not at the moment, because she is aware that the spotlight would be on her, instead of on the relief efforts.
