June 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) America Ferrera, the former “Ugly Betty” star has confirmed her engagement with her longtime boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams. America Ferrera attended the Edinburgh Film Festival for the screening of “The Illusionist in Scotland” recently where she showed her beautiful engagement ring presented to her boyfriend.

Both of them met each other at University of Southern California when Ryan Piers Williams cast the “Ugly Betty” star in his student film and since then they both fell in love. The rumors about their engagement began from 2007 and finally it is the time for the couple to make their rumors true.

America Ferrera’s publicist Carrie Byalick only confirmed this news and did not provide any further details. Ryan Piers Williams is an aspiring director who has been associated with movies like “Muertas” shot in El Paso Texas and also two short films called “The Flood” and “Confine.”

America Ferrera is also said to be busy promoting her new film called “The Dry Island” which has been written and directed by her beau, Ryan Piers Williams. The couple has not announced their marriage dates but everyone expects that both of them will tie their knots soon.

Meanwhile, America Ferrera is best known for playing the role of Betty Suarez on ABC’s “Ugly Betty” which enabled her to win the Emmy Award, the Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

The popular actress has also edged various roles apart from “Ugly Betty” which includes movies like “Our Family Wedding”, “Real Woman Have Curves” and “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” etc.
