UAE to stage first public opera
April 22nd, 2010 - 3:57 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, April 22 (IANS/WAM) A musical extravaganza awaits opera lovers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as they will be able to watch a public performance in the Emirates for the first time.
The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) in association with the German Embassy, the French Embassy, the Paris Sorbonne University, and the Richard Wagner Society of Abu Dhabi will showcase German composer Richard Wagner’s opera “Die Walkure” April 26 and has allowed public viewing for the first time.
The Bavarian State Orchestra is scheduled to take part in the performance.
