U2 tour postponed because of Bono’s back surgery
May 25th, 2010 - 10:03 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, May 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The officials of the U2 Band announced that they were forced to postpone their North American tour, because of Bono’s back surgery. The U2 frontman needs time to recover from the surgery, so the management of the group was forced to cancel the North American tour and push it into the next year – 2011. The band manager said that Bono was feeling very bad about letting down his fans, who had bought the tickets a year in advance for his shows.
The band manager Paul McGuinness posted a statement on the official U2 website which stated that, “Our biggest and I believe best tour has been interrupted and we’re all devastated. For a performer who lives to be on stage, this is more than a blow. He feels robbed of the chance to do what he does best and feels like he has badly let down the band and their audience. Which is of course nonsense. His concerns about more than a million ticket buyers whose plans have been turned upside down, we all share.”
Bono was preparing for the upcoming musical tour, which was titled the ‘360 Degree’ tour, when he injured his back and needed to undergo surgery. This tour also had a gig at the TCF Bank stadium. Around 50,000 tickets were sold out in just a matter of hours, when the booking had opened last year.
