1227-tyler-perryDec.29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tyler Perry is passionate about the work he does. Last year he managed to direct two films and also completed work on another. Apart from that, he acted as the film ‘Precious’ s executive producer. Movies aside, he carried on with “House of Payne” and “Meet the Browns”, two sitcoms. In 2010, the actor-director will produce a stage play that has been composed by him. Funnily enough, the play titled “Madea’s Big Happy Family” will feature him donning the hat of a firearm-brandishing, hot tempered grandmother. He has revealed some details of the play in his website already. It will make its debut in Texas on January 4, 2009.

The 40 year old actor had to spend the last part of 2009 looking after his ailing mother. She died in December. It had been a difficult time for him though it could not stop the flow of his creativity. He will tour the country to stage the play from January and it will continue till May. At Hollywood’s Kodak theater, he will have a week long performance as per the plans. Atlanta’s Fox Theater and Madison Square Garden of New York are also among his venues.

His new play Madea’s Big Happy Family will replace Laugh to Keep From Crying, which is also his composition. The actor is busy rehearsing for the role. It is not yet known if it would be a musical, though Tyler Perry says there will be a fair dose of music in it. A lot of his stage plays have inspired film adaptations in his career.
