Dec. 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tyler Perry announced on Wednesday the death of his mother. He posted a blog in his website, notifying the viewers of her death, and thanking them for their prayers. However, nothing on the website was there that would give a clue to the manner of her death. The post on the website is somewhat of an obituary on Willie Maxine Perry, his mother, and mentions her date of birth. She passed away at the age of 64. She had been a preschool teacher by profession. She had been teaching at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center for almost the entire span of her life.

Along with the obituary, Tyler Perry had posted a picture of himself with his mother, as they had appeared at the premiere of the film “Madea.” Keleigh Thomas, who acts as the publicist for Tyler Perry, did not disclose any details either on the manner or time of the death of Willie Maxine Perry. Some days prior to this notice, he had sent mails to his fans, asking them to pray for his mother, who was not keeping too well. In another mail some days later, he mentioned feeling happy and grateful that his mother had recovered a lot, mentioning that she is a really strong woman.

Tyler Perry had admitted, at the premiere of his film “Madea”, that his mother had been the biggest inspiration behind the creation of one of the most popular characters of his career as a film maker. He confessed that the character of “Medea” was conceived by him as a cross between his mother and his aunt.
