Two Years Prison Sentence For Seacrest’s Stalker
June 15th, 2010 - 7:39 pm ICT by Pen Men At WorkJune 15, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Ryan Seacrest must have got some relief now! Chidi Uzomah, 26, has been sentenced to two years in prison for stalking the American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.
The stalker has also been ordered to stay 500 wards away from Seacrest and his workplace for 10 years. During the hearing of the sentence, Uzomah kept silent. Earlier, he had pleaded no contest in the case. Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr, was an Army reservist, who turned an E! HQ bum rusher later.
In 2009, he was arrested for stalking and since then, had been serving in jail. He was arrested from the cable network E! office in Los Angeles. He was stopped by the securities as Seacrest was recording a show there.
Uzomah was taken on probation for attacking the bodyguards of the star. In fact, Uzomah had been carrying a knife during a charity event in the Orange County Hospital last year.
Blair Berk, the lawyer of Seacrest stated, “Ryan is very happy with the effort of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office in this case.”
The 35 year old Seacrest is a radio and television personality, who is renowned for hosting the American Idol and E! News.
John S. Fisher, the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge has announced the sentence after Uzomah completed a 90-day psychiatric evaluation.
We hope that the host of American idol is feeling safe now and is ready to entertain us! He can now sleep peacefully for the next 10 years!
