24Mar 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is some real disappointing news for all the fans of the popular Fox drama series “24″ as the much acclaimed show is about to reach it’s final conclusion after remaining on screen for about nine years. The Fox network issued a statement late last week in which it confirmed that the hit television show would be canceled after the current eighth season reaches its conclusion.

While reacting to the decision of ending the series with its present season, actor Kiefer Sutherland, who edges the role of special agent Jack Bauer, exclaimed that the entire team of “24″ agreed to end the series with the eighth season as everyone associated with the show intended to end it on a high note. Moreover, the lead actor, who is also the executive producer of the show, also added that he was extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to play the character of Jack Bauer while pointing out that it was surely a role of a lifetime.

However, despite the fact that viewers would not get the opportunity to witness the television version of the cult series, they surely have something to look forward to as sources have revealed that a film adaptation of the drama is being considered. It has also been stated that filming for the movie version of the series is expected to take place from this year or early next year with Billy Ray being approached to write the screenplay of the feature film. “24″ received wide appreciation from the viewers when it was aired for the first time way back in the year 2001 and over the years has also been recognized with many awards.
