TV Comedy Show ‘Khichdi’ To Be Adapted In A Movie

August 14, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): One of the funniest shows of Indian television “Khichdi’ is going to have a big screen version of it. This is going to be the first Indian TV serial, which has been transformed into a movie. Fox Star Studios will be releasing the big screen version on October 1.
The sitcom on Star Plus was produced by Hats Off productions and was directed by Aatish Kapadia. The names of the show’s characters like Praful, Hansa, Himanshu Babuji, and Jayshree became a household name.
Some talented and veteran actors were part of the show including the names such as Anang Desai, Amit Varma, Dina Pathak, Ami Trivedi, Arya Rawal, Rajiv Mehta, Kamlesh Oza, Dipesh Shah, Narahari Jani, Pratima T., Supriya Pathak-Kapur, Richa Bhadra, Yash Mittal, Sweety Nayak, and Vandana Pathak.
Hats Off Productions has produced the movie and it has been directed by Aatish Kapadia. In a statement, Vijay Singh, CEO Fox Star Studios India said that they have received positive feedback from their research of the audience about the movie based on “Khichdi’. He added that the audience found this comedy to be much funnier than many of the recent comedy movies as very few of them can be watched with entire family.
The Parekh family will be shown trying to fulfill some ridiculous tasks through a series of amusing situations.
Producer J. D. Majethia is also very optimistic about the success of the movie based on the TV show “Khichdi’. He said the film will redefine the comedy in Indian films.
Well, we hope the movie is able to charm the audience like the comedy show did.
