London, Jan 11 (IANS) Singer Beyonce Knowles has upset the people of Trinidad by planning a gig there. The residents feel it is a waste of money and that it will divert people’s attention from the annual carnival.
Residents of Trinidad, West Indies, want Beyonce’s Feb 18 concert cancelled, saying its cost - about 1 million pounds - will bleed money out of the budget for the island’s annual carnival, which ends two days before, reported thesun.co.uk.
“Beyonce can kiss my a**. I refuse to give up Carnival to go to a concert to see her perform songs I have seen on YouTube,” said one resident.
“I love Beyonce but she should never take the spotlight off the Trinidad Carnival,” said another inhabitant of the island.
