trentJan 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The night was filled with memorable moments and unusual victories. The 2011 Golden Globe Awards saw some of the most exciting and mesmerizing moments. Perhaps one such very unexpected moments came when “Nine Inch Nails” founder Trent Reznor walked on to the stage accompanied by his working partner Atticus Ross for accepting the award for Best Original Score - Motion Picture for the movie “The Social Network”. Even Trent Reznor himself was kind of shocked. It came like a bolt from the blue, something which he might not have predicted.

Trent Reznor, along with the English musician Atticus Ross, bagged the award for ‘Best Original Score-Motion Picture’ for teh much talked about flick “The Social Network”. The songs depict the ups and downs which was faced by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg at the time of creating the popular social networking site. Accepting the Golden Globe, Trent Reznor described his win as “surreal” and said in his acceptance speech that he never expected to score a film, and thinking of receiving an award for it was a distant dream. His victory was both curious as well as thrilling for a number of reasons. The original music he contributed to “The Social Network” was the almost-true story of founding the Facebook. Then again the song comprised mostly of moody interludes and no real themes.

However, it was even more surprising to find Trent Reznor accept the award as a result of his crazy musical legacy. He has obviously evolved a bit since his first album “Pretty Hate Machine” was released more than 20 years ago. He seemed to be a master of rock music. The award has given recognition to his work, which has of course evolved becoming deeper, more complicated and of course more cinematic with time.
